Frame Sliders: The Minimalist Approach

Frame sliders are Delrin or aluminum pucks mounted to the strongest points of the frame. In a slide, they keep the frame and engine casings elevated off the tarmac. They are sleek, unobtrusive, and highly effective for track-day low-sides.

However, if a slider catches a curb or grass edge during a high-speed slide, it can potentially flip the bike or bend the frame mounting point.

Crash Cages: Maximum Security

For naked bikes, stunt riders, or adventure bikes, full tubular steel crash cages offer maximum protection. They completely surround the engine block and lower fairings. While they add significant weight and dramatically alter the look of the bike, they can withstand repeated heavy impacts.

When configuring your bike, consider your primary use case. Sliders are perfect for sportbikes, while full cages and engine guards are essential for adventure riding.
